PTSCO Roles & Responsibilities
President
Set dates for quarterly meetings with school administration. (Mrs. Hannah)
Preside over meetings and set agenda
Organize and set dates for PTSCO activities for the year
Connect class parent representatives and teacher representatives
Speak at new student/parent orientation
Side duties coordinated with other officers and community members:
Disburse funds to activities in need.
Help new members coordinate events and activities.
Share Instructional files and tax documents.
Vice President
Assist in formulation of long-range planning of PTSCO goals
Oversee commitees in event planning
Support PTSCO leaders in day-to-day operations
Treasurer
Tracks incoming and outgoing funds
Collects fundraising money
Writes checks for purchases and reimbursements
Keeps records of all financial transactions
Keeps funds for all other classes and sports clubs who wish to have funds with PTSCO instead
Coordinates with the President all financial transactions
Secretary
Attend quarterly meetings
Collect information and requests for the meetings agendas
Keep meeting minutes. Transcribe and share with website manager for publishing.
Send out reminder emails about upcoming meetings and events or to be added to website
Keep track of committee members and send out emails to corresponding events.
Represent your child’s grade level at PTSCO (Can be more than one representative per grade)
Help support a friendly, fun atmosphere at City Honors School for all students.
Support social events like the Halloween Social, dances, and feild days.
Coordinate fundraising efforts for the 8th grade trip to Camp Pathfinder* in the Spring. (i.e. Dances, Skyzone, Winter Bazaar sale booth.)
Coordinate events for class spirit. (i.e. Sledding, Sweatshirt design contest and sale, Skyzone)
Coordinate fundraising to offset cost of Junior/Senior class Prom and Senior outing.
*Camp Pathfinder is private camp located in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. The trip is both a celebration and team-building experience for the entire 8th grade transitioning from middle school to high school.
