Participate

PTSCO is an opportunity for parents, students, faculty and the community to share ideas, information and plan social events to engage and better serve all those impacted by City Honors School

Ways to participate:

  • Attend PTSCO Meetings

  • Volunteer in an activity your child is interested in or that you are gifted in: sports, trivia, debate, crafts, etc.

  • Volunteer for one of the social events PTSCO sponsors. Help with set-up, clean-up, serving, baking, donating paper products, scoop ice cream, decorate for holiday events.

  • Coordinate a fundraising event for your child’s class. Dances, Sky Zone, Roller Skating, Sell crafts at the Winter Bazaar, anything you can think of. Can’t coordinate, chaperone or “count beans.”

  • Pelion Garden always needs help. Weeding, new projects for upkeep of the hill, garden and planters at the entrances to the school.

Make it fun and reach out:

  • Get a friend to do it with you.

  • Tell other parents what you did, how you did it and how they can do it too.

  • Share with the PTSCO leaders problems and solutions you encounter.

  • Dedicate to it annually. Set a reminder and make it a habit. The more you do it, the better you get at it, the better the event becomes and know that you have made a difference.
